How BEST to Wine FEST: Épernay’s 8!
May 18, 2016With so many activities to choose from this Nantucket Wine Fest weekend,
here are a few highlights (and helpful hints) to ensure you make the most of it.
Want to mix it up and mingle with new people this Wine Fest weekend?
Instead of being stuck in the same seat all night for a wine dinner, this is your opportunity on Friday night to roam freely as you take advantage of the opportunity to meet not just one, but three, of the top Winemakers from the Frederick Wildman & Sons European Portfolio. Start your evening by sipping on Pol Roger in the Champagne Lounge, then anything can happen!
Tickets and more information about this fab Wine + Food extravaganza can be found here.
Don’t waste precious time fighting the crowds to do a marathon tasting.
Sprint on over to Épernay Wine & Spirits for our complimentary in-store wine tasting events throughout the weekend. With so many activities to choose from, its best to allocate your time wisely in order to maximize your total wine exposure. Our tastings are strategically planned to be timed perfectly in between the Signature events of Wine Fest so that you can have your cake and eat it, too!
See what Wine Luminaries we will have in house and when for our in-store tastings here.
Like any good Wine Scout, never forget your Motto of ‘Be Prepared!’
Proactive hydration + recovery while you are drinking is the mother of all of prevention for that unwanted (and inoperable) hangover feeling. Don’t allow your self the set back of being benched during this ultimate weekend. No stimulants, made with natural and organic ingredients and certfied Kosher, Gluten Free and Vegan.

BREAKFAST BUDDY: Meet Me At The Hub!
I can’t stress enough how important it is to refuel in the morning in order to keep pace with the Wine Professionals throughout the weekend.
For a delish + quick grab-and-go bite on the run, look no further than the ham & cheese croissant from The Hub on Main Street. They also offer breakfast paninis, scrumptious muffins and a variety of smoothies.
NOTE: Get there early or send someone to pick up your order for you, they are that good! Open daily at 7am.
Lunch time on Friday afternoon at CRU Oyster Bar is THE PLACE TO BE!!!
If you are looking to rub elbows with the ‘Who’s Who’ of Wine Luminaries before the action gets started, look no further than #OntheWaterfront. The dining room will be packed with winemakers from around the world with copious bottles of Christian Moreau’s Chablis + magnums of Rosé flowing as you enjoy the food, ambiance and view.
BONUS: While other restaurants close between lunch and dinner service, the kitchen at CRU is open daily 11am-11pm.
These gents may not be Sommeliers in real life, but they get to play one during Wine Fest weekend!
Late night Friday will be non-stop fun as Proprietors Bar & Table on India Street has invited the Donelan clan to yield their wine openers. They will be pouring their source driven wines from this small, boutique, family owned + operated winery located in bucolic Sonoma County, California.

Are you longing to meet other wine collectors who will generously share their most coveted wine with you?
La Fête is a newer addition to the Nantucket Wine Fest activities and may be the most prestigious of them all. This convivial feast brings guests together with visiting vignerons, world-renowned chefs, experienced sommeliers, and other avid wine collectors in order to taste, share, and celebrate some of the world’s greatest wines with one another.

GET A POUR AT TABLE 44: Sunday’s Grand Tasting
The final stretch… where the taste of Victory (yea, you made it!) is much sweeter than that of defeat.
Advanced Sommelier Jenny Benzie will be (wo)manning the table for Épernay Wine & Spirits this year at one of Nantucket Local’s favorite tastings during Wine Fest weekend. We will be featuring our EXCLUSIVE SELECTION of three rosé wines from Château Saint-Maur: Petit Saint-Maur, Côtes de Provence Cru Classe, and the ultimate ‘L’Excellence!’
