Making Mom Happy | Mother’s Day Gift Guide
May 4, 2021If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.
Sadly, I lost my mother many years ago, much too young due to an accident.
However, I still to this day try to do what would make her happy. Inviting my mother-in-law to visit Nantucket next month, bringing an unexpected coffee from Roast’d to my neighbor and friend next door to the wine store, taking a dear friend’s dog for a walk in the Nantucket State Forest when she is unable to do so— all are just some of the things I have done. These people are all moms in my life, even if they have no blood relation to me, and, like me, they are moms to four-legged furry creature that love them more than their own kith and kin sometimes.
How do we celebrate these people in our lives on Mother’s Day, and keep our status as the favorite “child?”
Personally, I want bubbles. Nothing says, “celebrate Mom” more than a bottle of Champagne— as in me, the mom who takes the dog to frolic at Sanford Farm once a week and feeds him a farm fresh Nantucket egg for breakfast most mornings.
A stunning bottle of Laherte Freres Rosé de Meunier Extra Brut Champagne may not last as long as a dozen roses, but the beautiful sentiment could last a lifetime.
