Making Mom Happy | Mother’s Day Gift Guide

If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy. Sadly, I lost my mother many years ago, much too young due to an accident. However, I still to this day try to do what would make her happy.  Inviting my mother-in-law to visit Nantucket next month, bringing an unexpected coffee from Roast’d to my neighbor and friend next door to the wine store, taking a dear friend’s dog for a walk in the Nantucket State Forest when she is unable to do so— all are just some of the things I have done. These people are all moms in my life, even if they have no blood relation to me, and, like me, they are moms to four-legged furry creature that love them more than their own kith and kin sometimes. How do we celebrate these people in our lives on Mother’s Day, and keep our status as the favorite “child?” Personally, I want bubbles. Nothing says, “celebrate Mom” more than a...Read More >

Stress-Free Wine Selections for Your Easter Meal

Knowing what you are serving for your main course is only part of the battle in pairing a wine with your Easter meal.  Other concerns may be what time of day are you eating, what do you usually like to drink, and how many drinkers are in the house.  While this last part may not be as much of a concern these days with our physical distancing practices, it is always important to take into consideration to ensure you have enough wine on hand to celebrate the holiday accordingly.   You may not need that extra bottle to deal with your lovely mother-in-law this year, however, it might be good practice to have it on hand for whenever the next occasion arises (did someone say virtual wine tasting on Thursday?). #WINEWITHJENNY VIRTUAL TASTING EXPERIENCE THURSDAY, APRIL 9th | 6 PM | FACEBOOK + INSTAGRAM LIVE FEATURING STRESS-FREE WINE SELECTIONS FOR YOUR EASTER MEAL, NO MATTER WHAT’S ON THE MENU While Thanksgiving...Read More >

Nantucket BYOB Picks + Pairings

While Nantucket has a handful of places for a quick grab and go coffee paired with a Morning Glory muffin, sometimes you are in need of a hearty breakfast. Whether it is to clear your head from the night before or get your read for the day in front of you, start off your day with a delicious breakfast from BLACK EYED SUSAN’S.   This small, elegant eatery is open bright and early at 7 am and serves until 1 pm. You can order your choice of egg scramble, omelette and Black Eyed Susan’s best. Don’t forget to share an order of their Pennsylvania Dutch Cakes for breakfast dessert! What makes it even more fun is that it is a Bring Your Own Bottle establishment. You are probably thinking that this would be amazing for dinner, but who doesn’t enjoy a mimosa with their brunch? Bring a bottle of PASQUA PROSECCO to mix with your orange juice there. Prosecco, being...Read More >

Nantucket’s “Other” Beaches: What’s in Your Cooler?

Warmer weather on the horizon enables us to be a little more adventurous in our beach exploration. While there are a number of tried and true, easy accessible and readily available sand spots that are the regular go-to, hot spot beaches of Nantucket, the fact that the entire island is surrounded by sand enables you to also be able to venture off the beaten path as you wish and discover a less inhabited part of the island. Each beach is able to offer a distinct experience and the same holds true in making your summer rosé wine selections. Why not make it a perfect pairing for your next beach excursion by exploring these beaches less traveled and the rosé to accompany it. _____ Dynamic Dionis Beach Just off the rolling bike path that leads to Madaket, the leisurely three mile jaunt from town to gain access to this north shore beach will take you down Eel Point Road. The sound...Read More >
