Endless Summer Shades of Rosé

You drink white wine year round, Sancerre in the summer and White Burgundy in the winter. Some people drink red wine all the time as well, Pinot Noir when it is warm outside and a hearty Cabernet Sauvignon when it is not. Why then do so many people think they have to give up Rosé after Labor Day? Refuse to stop drinking pink if that is what you really want! Not only is it 5 o’clock somewhere, it is also rosé season wherever you may be. Advanced Sommelier Jenny Benzie gives us some direction in transitioning from your favorite summer pinks to heartier styles in this end of summer “Don’t You Forget About Me” rosé recap. SEASIDE SIPPING Bandol is a small wine region located on the Mediterranean coast, long known for producing some of the most classic, show-stopping rosés from France. (Think if wine was made by the shores of Cisco Beach!)  BASTIDE DE LA CISELETTE BANDOL ROSÉ is...Read More >

Seaside Sips for Summer

Only five Fridays left until Labor Day Weekend.  Makes you think about what remains on your Nantucket To-Do Summer Bucket List.  You mapped it out at the beginning of season, but your busy social schedule, kids at camp and weekly houseguests got the best of you and your precious time spent here on the island.   Time to regroup, reassess and refresh your priorities before summer ends.  What better way to do that than with a lovely glass of rosé in hand to toast the next adventures and amazing memories you will be creating by the waters of our fair isle. While spending the day on the sand has its glorious moments, there is something to be said about the calm and stillness of enjoying the water in Nantucket Harbor.  This extends well past where the Hy-Line Ferry and visiting boats dock close to town. A drive out to Monomoy, Polpis or the Wauwinet area will keep you on the...Read More >

50 Shades of Rosé Recap

50 SHADES OF ROSÉ – NANTUCKET CULINARY CENTER – JUNE 20TH We kicked off the 1st Day of Summer 2016 with our “50 Shades of Rosé” Wine Tasting Event at Nantucket Culinary Center. We take pride in our Rosé selection at Épernay Wine & Spirits. We have the largest selection on island of that favorite PINK sip of summer! The event took us around the world as we explored almost 50 rosés from across the globe. The event was in partnership with Nantucket Culinary Center and Bespoke Events & Party Provisioning. The beautiful blooms were designed by Soiree Floral and Chef Greg Margolis created a delicious spread of passed appetizers and cheese plates to compliment the Rosés. As part of the event, guests were given pink tickets in order to vote for their favorites and the results are in! Tied for #1 are Domaines Ott* “Château Romassan” Bandol 2015 and Château Saint Marguerite “Symphony” Côtes de Provence 2015 Domaines Ott* “Château Romassan” Bandol 2015 – The...Read More >
