You Had Me At Rosé: Pour Me Another

Drinking rosé has become all the craze as of late. “Rosé all day” and “Yes way rosé” are just a couple of this summer’s pink drinking ad campaigns. While children wait in line for their special treat at The Juice Bar, their parents are making a quick stop at their favorite wine store to pick up more pink juice for themselves to enjoy as soon as they are able. The usual rosé suspects never seem to fail vintage to vintage, but there are a lot more options out there just waiting to be discovered. Venture off the usual rosé wine route, just as you would the sandy back roads of Nantucket, and you will be pleasantly surprised by what you might discover. IBY Blaufrankisch, Mittelburgenland, Austria 2016 Pronounced ee-bee, this small family owned winery from Austria is located in the center of the Mittelburgenland wine region about an hour south of Vienna. There happen to be two honorees...Read More >

Pleasures of Drinking Pink

Summer on Nantucket has become synonymous with drinking rosé wine. On the boat, at the beach, sipping it waterfront with breakfast, lunch or dinner are just a few occasions where one can be caught with a full glass of pink pleasure in their hand. With such variety and spice among all the new, unique rosé selections available these days, drinking pink is now acceptable throughout the year. Which rosé wine you choose to drink, however, should change with the season just like your other eating and drinking habits do. As summer is winding down, this is the perfect time to transition into enjoying a different style of rosé than the light, refreshing one you would imbibe during the dog days of summertime.  Being on the cusp of fall, here is a selection of tried-and-true American-made rosés worthy of consideration and reflection as we transition into my favorite season. The best of rosés during this time of year are those that...Read More >
