Celebrating American Wines

Not only does Labor Day mark the (unofficial) closing of the summer season, more importantly it is a celebration to honor the working people and the contributions that they have made to our country over the years. Our celebrations often include parades, barbeques and most likely beverages in which to toast those who have paved the way for our country at some point in history to be what it is today. With this in mind, we look at a handful of pioneers in the California wine business who are considered icons in the industry based on the contributions they have made to the trade. WHAT TO POP FOR POPS

A SPARLKING GOOD TIME ON NANTUCKET Mid-August is fast approaching and while some people are packing their bags to head back to school, others are reveling in the beautiful summer beach days that make Nantucket what it is. Here is a quick list of sparkling options to help you celebrate and boogie the night away at this frolicking, fun beachside event. ARRIVE WITH LAMBERTI PROSECCO DOC The house of Lamberti is located on the shores of Lake Garda in Northeast Italy’s Veneto region. The winery is named after one of the...Read More >

Sipping & Sailing

BASICS OF THE DRINK: SIP + SAIL TERMS TO LIVE BY While there is a comprehensive (and somewhat exhausting) list of technical tasting terms that can be used to describe wines, this can be overwhelming to a beginner who just wants to enjoy the social aspects of sipping wine and rubbing elbows on the mega yacht down on the waterfront If you are just learning how to properly taste wine and describe what you are tasting with others, this quick reference guide of beginner wine terms will provide a helpful overview of words that make it simple to be on the same language (even if you have had a few sips already). In honor of the Nantucket sailing season beginning this last weekend for Memorial Day, we thought it be fun to compare some basic sailing terms with your wine drinking vocabulary. To start, think of your palate (as in your appreciation for taste and flavor) as a sailing vessel...Read More >
